Gordon De Beer
COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT
After completing his BA (LLB) at Natal University, Gordon went on to attain post-graduate diplomas in both Maritime Law and Industrial Relations at Natal University and Stellenbosch University, respectively.Gordon served his articles at Cox Yeats Attorney sand then practiced for many years at the prestigious Strauss Daly Attorneys, eventually being appointed as a partner of the firm.
In 1996, Gordon founded De Beer Attorneys and nurtured the practice into the successful law firm it is today. Gordon specialises in commercial law and heads our commercial department with the same degree of professionalism that he expounds in his latest book, The Professionals Playbook.
André Botha
LITIGATION & COMMERCIAL LAW
André was admitted as an attorney in 2016,after attaining his LLB Degree at UNISA and completing his articles at another prestigious Durban-based firm.He attained a distinction in medical negligence and thereafter qualified as a conveyancer in 2020 and a notary public in 2021.
André joined De Beer Attorneys in 2018 and serves as an associate in our litigation and commercial departments, bringing his considerable expertise to our litigation, commercial, family law, property law and trust matters.
Taryn De Nysschen
CIVIL LITIGATION
Having attained her LLB degree at UNISA with30 distinctions, Taryn was admitted as an attorney in 2009 and a conveyancer in 2010.After practicing for 2 years for other Durban-based firms, she thereafter headed her own successful law firm for 9 years. Taryn brought her wealth of experience in private practice to De Beer Attorneys when she joined us in 2023.
Taryn serves as an associate in our litigation and commercial departments, specialising in civil litigation, collections, commercial law, family law and trusts.
Lorraine Ballantyne
TRUSTS & ESTATES
Lorraine has been with De Beer Attorneys since our inception. She has over 20 years’ experience in winding-up estates and is our Trusts specialist.A dedicated team-member, she has a decided flair for numbers and manages our accounts department with the same degree of dedication that she brings to our estates and trust departments.
